Kenya: Wetang'ula Lauds MPs for Bipartisan Approach During House Business

Nairobi — Speaker Moses Wetang'ula has lauded Members of the National Assembly for upholding parliamentary decorum and bipartisanship in the performance of their legislative mandate.

Wetang'ula noted that as the National Assembly completed the First Session of the 13th Parliament on Thursday legislators worked extremely hard in contributing to the process of legislation with great determination and zeal.

He urged MPs who are on long recess until February 14 - when the House resumes its sittings - to spend the time familiarizing themselves with the challenges affecting their constituents.

"The NG-CDF are now in place hence I urge Members of Parliament to embark on rigorous plans to utilize the resources geared towards uplifting developments including distribution of bursaries to schools among others", said Speaker Wetang'ula.

Cognizant of the political alignments in the country, Speaker Wetang'ula observed that Members of the National Assembly have on occasion set aside their party positions and joined hands in delivering legislation in the August House for the prosperity of the nation.
