Kenya: Leading Kenyan Companies to Be Honored for Exemplary Work

Nairobi — Leading Kenyan companies are among East African organisations that will be honoured for their exemplary work during a major international SMEs and Mid-sized award dubbed Pacesetters Awards, the event organiser have said.

Jubilant Steward of Africa (JSA) Executive Director, Jared Oundo said this year's regional awards ceremony which brings together companies from 10 countries in the larger Eastern Africa will be held Kampala Uganda on December 15.

The Ugands event comes six months after a similar one was conducted in Nairobi in June for the Kenyan chapter.

He said JSA said the objective of the event was to encourage business entities and the business leaders to go beyond the call of duty to impact the communities around them and change livelihoods.

"These award are meant to celebrate key industry leaders for their innovation, quality products, and service delivery, job creation, exemplary leadership, growing the economy, and transforming the society," said Oundo.

He said the awards were based on the economic and social impact rather than the balance sheet adding that JSA was dedicated to the improvement of living standards, social ethics, dignity, and empowerment of communities.

Sources privy to the nomination list claim the new entrants in the Eastern Africa chapter of the awards include Super Manufacture Ltd, Electric Cars distributor - Go Electric Limited, Equity Bank Uganda, Prestige Driving School Uganda.

Oundo observed that most of the awardees have been conferred with other awards including the Top KPMG 100 Survey and other international awards.

"Notable firms that have featured in the Pacesetters Awards East Africa Kenyan Chapter include; Telecommunication giant Safaricom, Security Firm - Jeff Hamilton, drink manufacturer Kevian Kenya LTD Afia, VAELL, Digital lender Zenka Digital Ltd, Ena Coach Bus," he said

Oundo said Pacesetters Awards which is conducted through a panel of judges and a public vote considers a range of quantitative and qualitative aspects in order to determine and honor the winners.

He said the This year's Kenyan survey started on April 2, 2021 and closed on May 30, 2022 while the East African survey started on August 30, 2021 and closed on October 30 2022.
