Africa: Black Motion Headed for Final Split After Court Order

11 January 2023

World renowned Afro house group Black Motion seem to be headed for a split.

The group, with hit songs such as "Ngoma", "The Journey" and "Mtshongo", have reached a possible breaking point.

Thabo Mobogwane, one-half of Black Motion, released images of their vandalised studios where equipment has gone missing from their headquarters.

He later posted screenshots on their official social media pages, showing a court order that has been sent out to his bandmate, Bongani Mohosana.

The court order demands that Mohosana is to return the confiscated studio equipment by 13 January.

He is said to have taken the studio equipment when they parted ways.

When trying to get hold of their respective legal representatives, neither wanted to comment on the issue at the moment because it is an active case.

Fans and fellow musicians around the country such as DJ Sbu and Goodluck have been sending messages of encouragement and hope that the band members can reconcile and move forward.
