Kenya: Energy CS Appoints Isaac Kiva Ketraco New Boss

Nairobi — Energy Cabinet Secretary (CS) Davies Chirchir has appointed Isaac Kiva as the new acting managing director of the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (Ketraco).

Kiva's appointment was announced by Ketraco Board of Directors Chairman Abdi Bare Duale who was appointed recently to the position by President William Ruto.

"This is to bring to your attention that following a meeting of the Board of Directors held on 26th January 2023, the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Energy has appointed Eng. Isaac Kiva, to be seconded from the Ministry, as acting Managing Director and CEO for a period of Six (6) months from 27th January 2023 or until the position is competitively filled, whichever is earlier," Duale said in an internal memo.

"I take this opportunity to congratulate Eng. Isaac Kiva, on his appointment and request Management and Staff to accord him the necessary support as he strives to steer the Company's Strategic Goals and Objectives."

He replaces Antony Wamukota who was occupying the post in an interim capacity.

"In the interim period, the Board of Directors will take necessary steps to fill the position of Managing Director & CEO through a competitive recruitment process," it added.
