Nairobi — The Government has redeployed its communication officers to new stations following a Presidential directive.

The Ministry of Information, Communication and the Digital Economy in a letter addressed to various state agencies said the re-organization is meant to fill unoccupied positions in departments and ministries.

Recently, the Government issued a Presidential Executive Order No. 1 of 2023, calling for re-organization of departments, and agencies.

"The recently-issued Presidential Executive Order No. 1 of 2023, re-organized government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), some of which do not have officers in their Public Communications Departments," the Ministry's Permanent Secretary Edward Kisiang'ani said.

"This has necessitated re-deployment of officers to ensure that all MDAs are adequately served," Kisiang'ani added.

Some of the officer who have been redeployed to new station include Joseph Njagi Kariuki who has been posted at the State House Nairobi from the Ministry of Infrmation, Irene Akao Agum from the State Law to Office of Deputy President, among others.

In total, the PS reshuffled 47-officials to new stations.

"You are requested to inform this office when the officers report to you for assignment of duties."

It comes after the State also reorganized supply chain officials in what is seen as a move to weed out corruption cases as well as favoritism in Government institutions.

Ministries and departments that were targeted include the National Treasury, Ministry of Defense, National Police Service, State Department for Mining, and State Department for Basic Education.

Others are the State Department for Foreign Affairs, State Department of Energy, State Department of Tourism, among others.
