Narok — Narok County Government has launched a Sh3 billion development kitty to benefit the 30 wards of the county.

Narok Governor Patrick Ntutu said the projects to be implemented are those enshrined in the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) that were prioritized by residents during the public participation forums.

The county boss said he will move in every ward to launch the development projects, which he expects to be completed in a period of four months.

"Every ward has a specific project depending on their needs. Some wards prioritized construction of roads, others hospitals, classrooms, water projects and sale yards. We will ensure that these projects are implemented as early as possible so that we can launch other projects," he said.

He spoke at the Narok slaughter house premises where he launched a Sh5 million water project that was expected to benefit residents living at Limanet, Ilmasharian and London estates of Narok Township ward.

The first-time governor lauded a recent report by the controller of budget that ranked Narok County as one of the counties that have allocated a big portion of their budget on development.

He was accompanied by his County Executive Committee Members, Chief Officers and a portion of the Members of County Assembly.

At the same time, the governor lauded the peaceful co-existence among all tribes living in the county saying all Kenyans were welcomed to do business in the county.

He told off those in opposition who were threatening to hold a national protest that it was time for developing the country hence they should wait until 2027 when the country would be going for elections.

"I am happy that despite our county being a cosmopolitan area, residents are living in peace. Everyone is welcomed for development in our county but we do not entertain political sideshows that are meant to compromise our way of doing things," he said. - Kna
