Kenya Plunges Into Darkness After Major Power Outage

Nairobi — Kenya plunged into darkness on Saturday following a major power outage that affected most parts of the country.

Kenya Power, the company that supplies electricity, said the country had experienced a nationwide power outage from 6.25pm.

"We have lost bulk power supply to various parts of the country due to a system disturbance," it said in a statement and assured that "we are working to restore normalcy within the shortest time possible."

Even though Kenya experiences power outages, it is rare for it to affect the whole country.
