Kenya: President Ruto Says 2,800 Govt Services Fully Digitized

Nairobi — President William Ruto has announced that 2,800 government services can now be accessed online.

Speaking during the National Youth Service (NYS) pass out parade in Gilgil on Friday, the Head of State said his administration will ensure that all government services are fully digitized for smooth service delivery to Kenyans.

"Our endeavor to transit all government services to digital services is on course. We started with 300 services and three months down the line we have 2,800 government services online and we are on course to ensuring that in six months, all government services will be available online on a digital platform," President Ruto said.

President Ruto applauded NYS for playing a major role for being part of the digitization process pointing out that the government will leverage on automation and technology to ensure all other services are digitalized in the next 6 months.

"We will leverage on automation and on technology to provide efficient government services to all citizens from wherever they will be without having to queue or wait in any office because government services will be available online," said President Ruto.

"I appreciate the National Youth Service for its plan to contribute to the enhancement of government service delivery by providing personnel to assist in digitization, automation and migration of government services online."

In November last year, President Ruto said his administration was working towards moving about 90 per cent of government services to digital platforms within a year.

The President said the move will also ensure ease of doing business as citizens will be able to access their licenses online.

"We have about 15 per cent of government services in the digital platform, and we want to ensure that between six and 12 months we will have moved 90 per cent of government services to the digital platform," he stated.
