Kenya: IG Koome Meets U.S. Embassy Delegation to Discuss Security Cooperation

Nairobi — Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome on Tuesday held a meeting with the United States Embassy delegation on security cooperation between the two countries.

The US team was led by Nicolas Keefe, the Acting Regional Director in the Diplomatic Security High Threat Programs Directorate which is responsible for security and law enforcement operations at the Department of State's high-threat, high-risk overseas missions in Africa.

During the meeting held at NPS Headquarters in, Nairobi, the two leaders appreciated the continued good relations between the two countries, especially partnership in training police officers both locally and in the US, and collaboration in provision of security.

Keefe was accompanied by Patrick Mills Senior Regional Security, Prestina D. Williams, Deputy Regional Security Officer and Noberts Odol, US Embassy Nairobi Security.

Also present were Director Human Capital Development and Administration Rosemary Kuraru, and Police Spokesperson, Resila Onyango.

The US is among Kenya's key partners on security matters in the African region.
