Kenya: Ex-Presidential Candidate Waihiga Secures State Job

Nairobi — Environment Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya has appointed former Presidential Candidate David Mwaure Waihiga as the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the National Environment Trust Fund.

A special gazette notice dated April 20, 2023, contains Waihiga's appointment.

He will serve for a period of three years.

The Agano Party leader vied in the August 2022 presidential election and emerged last in the race that had four contestants. He garnered 31, 987 votes in the election.

President William Ruto was the winner of the election.

Besides being a Senior Counsel, Waihiga is also an ordained Minister of the gospel.
