Kenya: Muheria Urges IEBC Bi-Partisan Team to Drop Demands On Keynan, Pkosing

Nyeri — Nyeri archbishop Antony Muheria has called on members of bi-partisan parliamentary committee members to stop chest thumping over who should be in the talks saying the interest of Kenyans override theirs.

Addressing a press conference in Nyeri Muheria said that differences over who should be in or outside the talks is immaterial as Kenyans interest is the key factor.

"I want to urge those in the talks to stop wasting time and go ahead and make peace for Kenyans why should who is the talks stall an important discussion that will guarantee Kenyans peace," he stated.

Muheria spoke after Azimio leaders said talks have stalled over composition of the committee.

However, Muheria said that those in the talks should put Kenyans in the center and refrain from centering talks on pleasing factional leadership.

"It's the high time those in the committee out Kenyan interest at the centre of talks this issue of acting to please their factional leaders is all wrong," he stated.

The committee was formed after president William Ruto and Raila ondinga agreed on the need to discuss issue raised by opposition azimio leaders during their weekly protests.

However the Azimio MPs said that they will halt talks if they detect any shred of insincerity on the part of their colleagues.
