Kenya: DP Gachagua Convenes Forum on Tackling Alcoholism

Nairobi — Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has convened a consultative meeting on Tackling Alcoholism in Central Kenya.

The forum to be held at the Kenya School of Governance is a follow-up of last week's meeting he hosted at his Iruri residence which was attended by all elected, government, and religious leaders from Murang'a, Kirinyaga, Nyeri, Kiambu, and Nyandarua counties.

The DP consultative meetings come in the wake of a countrywide scaled-up surveillance and operation by multi-agency teams to tackle the growing menace.

Gachagua took up the initiative as he expressed his regret that the youth in the region are often drunk and are no longer productive.
