The African Union's Agenda 2063, the African Development Bank's High 5s, and the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals of Agenda 2030 all espouse the principle of accelerated inclusive and sustainable development. The First Ten-Year Implementation Plan of Agenda 2063 anticipated that by 2023, African economies would be transformed, inclusive, and sustainable, with a GDP growth of 7% annually.

These goals are captured in the Bank Group's High 5 strategic priorities, which an assessment by the United Nations Development Program has clearly shown that achieving them will allow Africa to reach about 90% of the SDGs.

Against this background, the African Union Commission, the African Development Bank, and the African Union Development Agency-New Partnership for Africa's Development (AUDA- NEPAD) are partnering to undertake a multi-sector study to bring out actions required to place each African country on a path of 7% - 10% annual GDP growth, sustained over the remaining 40-year implementation period of the Agenda 2063.

This thematic session, under the theme, Key actions to achieve inclusive growth and sustainable development in Africa, will elicit stakeholders' comments, inputs, and feedback on the report's preliminary findings.
