Bob Pro, one of the highly experienced producers in Rwanda, is preparing to unveil his long-awaited debut album after an illustrious career spanning 15 years. Having worked tirelessly behind the scenes, shaping the sounds of numerous artistes and contributing to the Rwandan music industry, Bob Pro is now ready to step into the spotlight. His debut album promises to be a culmination of his years of dedication, talent, and musical expertise.
Bob Pro's musical journey began at a young age when he discovered his passion for music production. Drawing inspiration from his family, church choir and various genres such as Afrobeat, hip-hop, and traditional Rwandan music, he honed his skills and developed a distinct sound that blends different influences. He went to a production school in Belgium majoring in music conservatoire and recording.
Real name Emmanuel Ndayambaje, the father of two has established himself as the pioneer of mastering engineering having handled the majority of audio music projects recorded by Producer Element at Country Records and songs of artistes signed under Kina Music record label management, among others.
The producer has been doing mastering for years but a number of local artistes opted to take their projects to Uganda or Kenya, until they came to the realization that a local producer can do it.
The idea of making an album came about in 2018 after producing Sauti Sol's song 'Suzanna' from there he knew he wanted to do something that involves different artistes from Rwanda and outside. The upcoming album is an introduction of many albums that he is planning to release every year.
"I have been working on not only this album but many albums that are to come annually for a long time. However there had been challenges along the way that hindered its release like Covid but now is the right time to release the albums.
"I wanted to make the first album about Rwanda, which is why it features mostly Rwandan artistes then I will go international. I have been working with artistes for a long time but I want our music to go international through this project that I believe deserves support and working hand in hand as Rwandans," said Bob.
He revealed that one song on the album will be out this week and then, more details regarding the albums about the title, release date, artistes on the album will be made public.
