Kenya: DPP Withdraws Incitement Case Against Korogocho MCA Odhiambo

Nairobi — The Office of the Director of Public Prosecution has terminated criminal case against Korogocho Member of Nairobi County Assembly Absalom Odhiambo Onyango.

Prosecuting Counsel Anderson Gikunda told the court that criminal charges against Onyango have been withdrawn under Section 87 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

Under the clause allow a public prosecutor to withdraw prosecution of any person at any time before judgment is delivered

The MCA was charged with charged with incitement to violence, as a result parties went for reconciliation process which gave rise to matter to be withdrawn.

Onyango was captured in a viral video inciting Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition supporters to stage protests in the city in a bid to force out President William Ruto's administration over alleged electoral fraud.
