Kenya: Waititu's Sh500 Million Corruption Case Fails to Kick Off After He Falls Ill

Nairobi — The Sh500 million corruption case facing former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu ad 11 others failed to kick off today after he fell ill.

Trial Magistrate Alex Kombo was told by defense counsel John Swaka that his client could not attend the case due to his his sickness.

The court directed the matter to be mentioned tomorrow and his medical documents be produced to confirm the ailment.

Already 23 prosecution witnesses have adduced their evidence only two witnesses are remaining for the prosecution to close their case.

The two witnesses are the document examiner and the investigating officer.
