Kenya: Kakuma Court Sentences Man to 20 Years in Jail Term on Extremism Charges

Nairobi — A Kakuma Court has handed a 20-year-jail term to a man after he was found guilty of charges related to terrorism.

The Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) Omar Seif Khamis was found in possession of a mobile phone with information meant to commit an act of terrorism.

The case was handled by Chief Magisrate Charles Ayamba.

"Hon. Charles Ayamba heard that Omar Seif Khamis was found with the said phone at the Kenya Coast Guard Turkana Station in 2022," ODPP stated.

The Prosecution led by Isaac Wasike proved its case.
