Kenya: Education Ministry Reschedules Midterm to Run From June 27 to July 1

The Ministry of Education has extended the mid-term break for learners in the country citing the planned dates coinciding with the national conference for secondary school heads.

According to Basic Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang, the new dates are rescheduled to start from June 27 to July 1.

"The ministry recognizes the National KESSHA conference is an important event that allows school managers to make a review and share experiences running of schools," he stated in the letter addressed to Kenya Secondary School Heads Association chairman Indimuli Kahi.

The letter subsequently directed all school heads in the country to take note and adhere to the changed dates.

Learners were scheduled to be released by schools for their half term breaks beginning this week as per the 2023 education calendar.
