The African Development Bank Group, jointly with KIEP, will host a hybrid seminar to present the African Economic Outlook 2023 report to Asian markets on the 12th of July 2023.

The African Economic Outlook is the African Development Bank Group's flagship annual publication that provides compelling, up-to-date evidence and analysis of Africa's economic performance to inform policy decisions. The 2023 edition focuses on mobilizing private sector resources to finance climate and green growth on the continent.

This year's presentation will be the fourth to be organized after successful sessions co-organized by the African Development Bank's Asia External Representation Office and the Bank's Macroeconomic Policy, Forecasting and Research Department since 2020.

The event will be particularly useful to senior government officials, government agencies, diplomats, development institutions, the private sector, civil society members, think tanks, and academia. In essence, all parties who are eager to follow economic trends and opportunities in climate finance and green growth in Africa.

Professor Kevin Chika Urama, Chief Economist and Vice President for Economic Governance and Knowledge Management at the African Development Bank, will present the report. Ambassador Edmond Wega, Executive Director for Korea, Canada, China, Kuwait, and Turkey at the African Development Bank, will present welcoming remarks.

The session will be in a hybrid format; a physical gathering at the KIEP headquarters in Sejong, Korea, and online participation.

Last year's event recorded more than 400 participants from Africa and Asia. This seminar customarily appeals to the African Development Bank's main Asian partners as a platform for constructive policy dialogue.

The event will be held mainly in English. Simultaneous interpretation service in French will be available.
