Meru — Azimio La Umoja Coalition leaders Martha Karua and Peter Munya resorted to hiring boda-boda after police denied them access into Meru town.

A video clip show the two leaders abandoning their vehicles and hoping on two separate motorbikes

Former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Munya on Monday announced that he will lead rallies in Meru town, Muthara market and Maua town.

Munya, a close ally of Azimio leader Raila Odinga, had taken a back seat from Azimio activities in the recent past and was missing in action during last Friday's Saba Saba rally.

Raila Odinga called the meeting in a bid to pressure on President William Ruto's government to lower the high cost of living and stop the implementation of the Finance Act 2023.

Anti-Finance law have been reported in various parts of the country including Nyeri, Busia, Nakuru, Nairobi, Kilifi and Kisii among other areas.
