Kenya: Sakaja Makes First Cabinet Changes, Appoints 2 Advisors

Nairobi — Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja on Thursday made his first Executive reshuffle since assuming office on August 25, 2022.

The reshuffle impacted 7 out of the 10 members of his Cabinet.

Among those unaffected are Charles Kerich, responsible for Finance and Economic Affairs, Stephen Gathuita Mwangi, overseeing Built Environment and Urban Planning, and Michael Magero Gumo, in charge of Innovation and Digital Economy.

The reshuffle led to several changes in other portfolios. Maureen Njeri has been relocated from the Green Nairobi sector to Business and Hustler Opportunities.

Suzanne Silantoi now heads the Health, Wealth, and Nutrition department, having previously managed Inclusivity, Public Participation, and Customer Service.

Patrick Mbogo has transitioned from the Mobility and Works sector to take charge of Boroughs, Administration, and Personnel.

Rosemary Kariuki, who previously handled the Business and Hustler Opportunities docket, now oversees Talent, Skills Care.

Ibrahim Auma Nyangoya, who previously served in Boroughs, Administration, and Personnel, has taken on the Green Nairobi portfolio.

Anastasia Nyalita has shifted from Health, Wealth, and Nutrition to Inclusivity, Public Participation, and Customer Service. Brian Mulama has been transferred from Talent, Skills Care to Mobility Works.

Additionally, Governor Sakaja appointed two advisors: Stephen Gachie for Economic Affairs and Bernard Kioko for Creative Economy.
