Kenya: PSVs Plying Various Routes in Nairobi Grounded Due to Demonstrations

Nairobi — Public Service Vehicles (PSV) plying various routes in the city resorted to parking the vehicles as commuters opted to stay indoors to avoid being caught up in the anti-governmental demonstrations.

Transport from the capital has been paralysed with bus companies keeping off the route due to demos.

Nairobi city roads are experiencing less traffic as a fresh round of three days of anti-government protests called by the Azimio Coalition starts today.

Shops remained closed and there is heavy security patrols across the city as well as other towns of Kisumu, Nakuru, Mombasa, Kisii among other areas even after the government outlawed the protests called by Azimio Coalition leader Raila Odinga, the third to occur this month.

Odinga has called for more protests from today, Thursday and Friday against the high cost of living occasioned by the Finance Act signed by President William Ruto.
