What: Seminar on readiness for the implementation of the enhanced transparency framework of action and support under the Paris Agreement for African countries

Who: African Development Bank, UN Climate Change, Government of Kenya and other partners of the Africa NDC Hub

Where: Sarova Stanley Hotel, Nairobi Kenya

The African Development Bank together with other Africa NDC Hub partners, the secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC Secretariat), including its Regional Collaboration Centre for West and Central Africa, will host a seminar on African countries' readiness to implement the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF) of action and support under the Paris Agreement. The seminar will take place on the 5th and 6th of September on the side lines of the 2023 Africa Climate Week in Nairobi, Kenya.

The seminar will bring together diverse stakeholders for policy discussions about climate transparency and the ETF and to showcase success stories, highlight challenges and needs, promote networking, and facilitate experience sharing relating to the implementation of the ETF. It will also prepare participants for the Africa ETF Dialogue organized by UN Climate Change, that will take place on the 7th and 8th of September. The ETF was established to enhance transparency of action under the Paris Agreement.

Seminar participants will also discuss necessary steps for Africa NDC Hub partners to address challenges, needs and priorities.
