11 September 2023

Nairobi — Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service, Felix Koskei, has urged political leaders from all parties to set aside their differences and join forces to deliver development to the Kenyan people.

Speaking during a thanksgiving ceremony held at ACK St. James Church in Gede, Kilifi County, Mr. Koskei emphasized that the government has ambitious plans for the country, including infrastructure projects like new roads and improved water supply systems.

"To realize these goals, we must prioritize peace and stability," he asserted. "All of us, regardless of our political affiliations, need to work together to provide essential services to our citizens."

The event featured the presence of notable leaders, including Public Service, Affirmative Action, and Gender Cabinet Secretary (CS) Aisha Jumwa, Tourism, Wildlife, and Heritage CS Peninah Malonza, and Kilifi County Governor Gideon Mungaro.

Mr. Koskei acknowledged significant strides in combating substance abuse in the region but stressed the need for continued joint efforts at both levels of government to protect the younger generation from this menace.

He also cautioned Kenyans to be vigilant against the influence of cults and false religions that could lead to self-harm, urging them to reconnect with spiritual gatherings, youth meetings, and rallies to strengthen their understanding of faith.

During the ceremony, Mr. Koskei presented a vehicle donated by the Tourism Fund to the Tourist Police Unit, aimed at enhancing tourist security as the country enters the high tourism season.

"This gesture carries significant symbolism. We will continue to equip the unit with vehicles, technology, and all necessary resources to ensure the safety of the coast region as a prime tourist destination," he assured.

CS Malonza revealed that the government had allocated over Sh36 million to compensate farmers who suffered crop losses due to marauding elephants from Tsavo National Park.

CS Jumwa noted that Kilifi residents had accessed over Sh3 billion in loans from the Hustler Fund, President William Ruto's flagship project aimed at improving the livelihoods of young Kenyans.
