The Civil Society and Community Engagement Division of the African Development Bank (AfDB) is pleased to announce the Regional Civil Society Forum for East Africa, scheduled for October, 18th and 19th in Nairobi, Kenya.

This event is part of a regional forum series to be held in 2023 on the global theme: "Engaging civil society in mobilizing private sector financing for climate and green growth in Africa", alternating with the continental forum organized every other year.

The Forum financed by the Korea-Africa Economic Cooperation (KOAFEC) Trust Fund, will bring together experts and leaders from civil society, government, and the regional business community to exchange best practices and opportunities for mobilizing private sector financing in the region. Participants will also have the opportunity to share experiences and discuss on challenges and opportunities to foster the transition to a green and climate-resilient economy in East Africa.

This regional format demonstrates the African Development Bank's commitment to strengthening its presence and interaction with regional communities, to fostering greater civil society participation in development actions and to championing the achievement of the continent's climate and green growth objectives.

The event will be held in a hybrid format and will be broadcast live via a link to be announced shortly.
