Kaizer Chiefs have fired coach Molefi Ntseki following their exit from the Carling Knockout.
The Soweto giants released the former Bafana Bafana coach on Monday, two days after crashing out of the Carling Knockout at the hands of AmaZulu.
Ntseki loses his job after four months at the helm at Naturena where he had replaced Arthur Zwane.
"Following a meeting on Monday morning, Molefi Ntseki's tenure as head coach of Kaizer Chiefs has ended amicably by mutual consent," said Chiefs in a statement.
Ntseki has become the second PSL coach to lose his job this season after Shaun Bartlett was recently axed by Cape Town Spurs.
"I would like to thank coach Ntseki for his contribution to the club since he arrived here, both at development level and with the senior team. We wish him success in his future endeavours," said Chiefs sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jnr on Monday.
Zwane has been redeployed back to Amakhosi's development structures while Dillon Sheppard has taken over as assistant coach to interim trainer Cavin Johnson.
Johnson will be in charge when the Soweto giants visit Golden Arrows for Saturday's PSL match at Mpumalanga Stadium.
It is a tall order for the former Al Ahly assistant coach who takes over at Chiefs, who are eighth on the PSL table.
Chiefs have 13 points fewer than log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, who have also played a game less.
Ntseki was in charge of 13 games, winning four, drawing three and losing six.
