Sunrise FC have dismissed Hassan Muhire from his coaching duties just four months after he was announced as club new head coach.
Muhire was named as Sunrise new head coach in June replacing Innocent Seninga who was sacked after failing to finish in a top six position at the end the 2022/23 season.
But the Nyagatare-based club has experienced a poor start to the season under the former football pundit, picking just two victories in seven games in the Primus National League.
The club management held a meeting on Monday evening, October 23, during which a final decision to show Muhire the exit door was taken after they were not impressed by his output.
Sunrise was among the busiest clubs in the June 2023 transfer window. They signed a number of players including former Mukura VS forward Robert Mukongotya which finished third in the 2022/3 Primus National League scoring charts. They also brought in Laab Garia who joined from Gicumbi FC after an impressive season with the club in the second Division league last season.
Times Sport understands that senior players at the club led by Samson Babua and Yafesi Mubiru have lost confidence in the tactician especially since he said that he 'doesn't a typical striker' despite their goal scoring exploits.
The club now sits at the bottom of the league table with 6 points from seven games played.
Assistant coach Jean Bosco Uwacu will be in charge this weekend when they host Muhazi United in Nyagatare.
