Kenya: President Ruto in Riyadh for Future Investment Initiative Forum

President William Ruto on Tuesday attended the 7th session of the Future Investment Initiative Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The conference which kicked off today will run through Wednesday 25 to Thursday 26 and brings on board a host of world leaders as well as policy makers in an array of fields including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, Education, Healthcare, and Sustainability.

Dubbed "The New Compass, the conveners of the summit, The Future Investment Initiative Institute has excused confidence that the meeting will play a cardinal role in equipping investors with new insights on how to develop new sustainable modalities of combating the new challenges such as climate change as well as unpredictable economic headwinds .

"At FII Institute, we are focused on four key impact areas.

The Future Investment Initiative (FII) Institute presents "The New Compass" an interactive program designed to help investors recalibrate the pathways for their companies and for the global economy, while developing new strategies for understanding the greatest challenges and opportunities of this new era," read a communiqué by FII.

The event also seeks to delve deeper into how technology is speedily becoming the new frontier with the introduction of Artificial Intelligence in several fronts.

Recently, President Ruto directed the Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Ministry to develop an Artificial Intelligence legislation that will provide an enabling environment for digital competitiveness.

The head of state indicated that this will goa long way in boosting the country's economy.

"It is well-established that economies where research and development are a policy priority tend to stay competitive over time, because the future is full of possibilities for them.

Our Digital Master Plan is intended to fulfill this role by enhancing our ability to confront an uncertain future with confidence," he said.
