Fire broke out in a multi-storey building in the Johannesburg inner city on Tuesday afternoon.
But this time, firefighters arrived in time and stopped the blaze from spreading.
Johannesburg Emergency Management Services (EMS) spokesperson Xolile Khumalo said the building that caught fire is at the corner of Kaptein and Claim Streets in Hillbrow.
"EMS firefighters responded to a fire incident call in Hillbrow, this afternoon at 3.50 pm," he said.
The firefighters promptly extinguished the fire before it could spread to other floors.
"One bedroom apartment on the sixth floor was affected. No injuries were reported. Fire inspectors are on [the] scene conducting investigations," said Khumalo.
In an interview earlier this month with Scrolla.Africa, Robert Mulaudzi, another spokesperson for Johannesburg's EMS, told the publication that five fire stations are on standby for any fire incidents in the inner city.
This is the latest of the many fires in the city in recent months. In September this year, 77 people died in a fire that gutted a five-storey building in Marshalltown.
