Kilifi — Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua will convene a meeting of key stakeholders to strategise on ending rampant drugs and substance abuse at the Coast Region.
Speaking in Kilifi County when he attended the 8th Anniversary of the Malindi Diocese at ACK St Thomas and fundraiser, Gachagua said ridding the region of drugs will improve the economic prospects of the people.
The Government is building infrasturure for full exploitation of the Blue Economy for the People of the Coast and the Nation, he added.
The Deputy President said the Ruto Administration is keen on reviving the economy asking the public to be patient.
He defended President Ruto's foreign travels saying the Head of State is looking for partnership to complement taxes for development.
The DP asked the Opposition to criticise the Government constructively and fairly.
He called out South African Politician Julius Malema for criticising President William Ruto and his Administration saying foreign visitors need to enjoy the tourism resources and let Kenyans deal with their matters internally.
Earlier, the Deputy President visited St Thomas Girls Secondary School in Kilifi where he encouraged and motivated students sitting for the KCSE. He presented the school with a bus. - DPPs
