Kenya: Mudavadi Stresses Need to Strengthen Kenya, UK Ties in Telephone Call With Ex-PM Cameron

Nanirobi — Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has emphasised the need for the strengthening of bilateral ties between Kenya and the United Kingdom.

In a telephone conversation with Foreign Secretary and form UK Prime Minister David Cameron, Mudavadi indicated that they also talked about global and regional issues and suggested solutions.

"Both of us emphasised the significance of peace and stability in the region," Mudavadi stated.

He indicated that the Foreign Secretary commended the Government of Kenya for its leadership role in the various peace initiatives in the region and matters climate change.

"He updated me on the developments in the Russia-Ukraine situation which has the potential to ease the pressure on global commodity supply chains," he stated.

"We reaffirmed our commitment to further strengthen our bilateral ties for the mutual benefit of our nations. I congratulated him on his appointment as the new foreign secretary."
