Nairobi — Police have ruled out the involvement of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) in the killing of alleged trespassers at Moi Barracks in Eldoret.

The response followed harsh condemnation over the murder of three victims aged between 26 to 30 years. Three others were admitted in hospital with serious injuries.

However, contrary to the speculations on the circumstances surrounding the deaths police believe that the victims may have been brought to the KDF land from another location.

Police also cited the lack of signs of a struggle at the scene to back the claims.

"It is suspected deceased persons and those in hospital were brought to the scene from unknown place since there was no struggle at the scene," read a report obtained by Capital News.

The incident, reported on Saturday, was brought to the attention of the police by the assistant chief of Kiplombe sub-location.

The bodies of the victims, aged between 26 and 30, were discovered dumped in the bush within KDF land, located approximately 10 kilometers north of Baharini Police Station in Uasin Gishu's Turbo sub-county.

"Upon visiting the scene, two bodies were identified as Kenneth Kipkemei Chumba, 28 years old, and Shadrack Kipkemei Rotich Kalejini, 26 years old, found lying dead with no visible injuries," the report stated.

Police disclosed that four other individuals were found injured and taken to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) in Eldoret for medical attention, where 30-year-old Daniel Kiprotich succumbed to injuries.
