Nairobi — Detectives in Kakamega are looking for Mumias East legislator Peter Salasya to shed more light into the allegations that he threatened to kill a magistrate who ruled against him in Sh500,000 debt suit.

The legal dispute arose when a local businessman sued the first time Member of Parliament for failure to repay a loan issued on December 13, 2022.

Following the ruling, police say that Salasya confronted Kiama outside the Kakamega Law Courts and threatened to kill her before fleeing.

The magistrate reported the incident which allegedly happened at around 1230hours at the Kakamega Police station.

"He confronted her outside the court room and threatened to kill her and then took off," read a report obtained by Capital FM news.

Police say that investigators have commenced probe with a view of apprehending the lawmaker to face appropriate charges.

Preliminary reports indicate that the MP is currently in hiding with his whereabouts yet to be established.
