Nairobi — Kenyans have been urged to dress down from tomorrow in cultural attire ahead of the Kenya at 60, Jamhuri day celebrations next week.
Head of Public Service Felix Koskei on Tuesday said that Kenyans should dress in comfortable and presentable outfit as the country prepares to commemorate the Jamhuri day celebrations to be held on December 12.
According to Koskei, the outfits will help amplify the Africa Youth Connekt Summit that is scheduled to be held from December 8 to December 11 at Kenyatta International Convention Centre(KICC) prior to Jamhuri day celebrations .
"For this week we are encouraged to swap the normal suits and ties to help create a youthful atmosphere. In aligning with the Jamhuri day celebrations theme starting Wednesday up to the celebratory event on December 12 2023, I encourage us to dress down in comfortable but presentable attires," he said.
Koskei stated that Kenyans should not shy away from wearing outfits that represent the nation's culture as well as those that support various sports teams in the country.
"Show your spirit by donning a jersey from your favorite Kenyan or African team whether it's Athletics, Harambee Stars, Shujaa, or Malkia," he added.
The public service boss also urged various stakeholders to interact with the youth in the community by empowering them to promote entrepreneurship, innovations and leadership.
The Youth Connekt Africa summit seeks to empower young people by enhancing their knowledge, experiences and skills while investing in their ideas, innovations and initiatives.
