Kenya: Govt to Create 1,450 Digital Hubs in Every Ward, President Ruto Says

Nairobi — President William has announced that the government will create 1,450 digital hubs in every ward.

Addressing the Youth Conekt Africa summit, the president stated that he intends to sign a law that allows the creation of the hubs by next week, which will train and enable the connectivity of the youths to job opportunities all over the world.

''I want to thank the Parliament of Kenya, they have just changed the law this week, in fact, I intend to sign it into law next week, so that we can create 1450 digital hubs in every ward in the republic of Kenya,'' said the president.

''Again to spur e-commerce to create opportunities for creativities, and the digital economy and to also train the youth, on digital economy and connecting them with jobs from around the world,'' added the president.

The president has further said that the government will change the laws in the country, which will enable remote jobs to be recognized.

''We have a new model of jobs that our laws did not see. In fact, shortly we will be changing the law in Kenya so that it appreciates that there are remote jobs,'' said the president.

''There are jobs that you do not need to walk into an office. What, matters is that you are working, doesn't matter if you are wearing a suit, it doesn't matter whether your hair is combed, what matters is you know what you are doing.
