Nairobi — Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale has proposed the division of the catholic church into the African catholic church and the Roman Catholic church.
Gracing a soccer tournament final at Tande primary school in Malava constituency Sunday, the Senator encouraged African catholic churches to stand up and resist the pressure from the roman catholic church on blessing homosexual marriages.
"If the white people think that they can force us Catholics to subscribe to that order then I call upon, all the catholic of Africa, now do not get out of the church so that they may have a roman catholic church and we have an African catholic church," he said.
The senator discouraged residents from associating themselves with churches that support homosexuality urging them to align themselves with the African culture and take a step to decline and campaign against homosexuality.
He has stressed that homosexuality is a misguiding culture that has been introduced by white people.
"We must refuse homosexuality because the whites are doing those acts. We are Africans. A child bullfighting in Shinyaru, cannot sleep with another boy, it is not possible," the senator said.
"Do not allow to engage yourselves with a church that supports marriages that are opposite to the teaching of the Bible and of Jesus Christ," he added.
