Kenya: National Police Service Flags Fake Recruitment Advertisement

2 January 2024

Nairobi — The National Police Service(NPS) has dispelled rumors of mass recruitment of police officers slated for this month that has been circulating widely.

A TikTok account dubbed 'Kenya National Police Service' had indicated mass police recruitment to be conducted on 5th January this year.

"We wish to inform the public to disregard the FAKE news circulating on social media platforms regarding the purported recruitment into the National Police Service in January 2024," NPS indicated.

Kenyans were advised to ignore the misleading post, which aimed to deceive individuals into believing in non-existent job opportunities.

Typically, legitimate nationwide recruitment exercises are announced in widely circulated newspapers, and the designated recruitment centers across the country.

Swindlers have been known to take advantage of unwary Kenyans through advertising fake recruitment and soliciting funds to disburse the application forms.

Last job recruitment by the NPS was conducted in June last year with all interested applicants send their applications online through, services.npsc.go.ke/recruitment.
