Nairobi — Azimio Members of parliament have told off President William Ruto over his remarks that the judiciary is being used by his opponents to sabotage the government's Agenda.
In a statement on Wednesday, Narok senator Ledama Ole Kina stated that President Ruto must obey orders issued by the court saying the country is governed by the rule of law.
"No one is above the law and Mr Ruto must obey court orders. This country does not belong to Ruto!" he stated.
According to the Narok county Senator, any accounting officer who defies court orders will be held personally liable according to Article 226 (5) of the constitution which does not offer anyone immunity.
"You will be roasted alone and we will sue you in your own capacity. Na utabeba msalaba wako mwenyewe!" read a statement published online by Ledama.
This comes after Ruto while speaking in Nyandarua County on Tuesday said that his government will end impunity by corrupt judicial officers who have teamed up with beneficiaries of corruption and graft to deny Kenyans development projects.
Some of the Kenya Kwanza government main projects including the Affordable Housing levy and Universal Health Care have been temporarily stopped by the court, a trend move that seemed to piss off President Ruto.
"We are a democracy and we will respect the independence of the Judiciary but what we will not allow is judicial tyranny and impunity. Judicial impunity must stop in kenya...we will stop it," he said.
In his part Rarieda Constituency Member of Parliament Otiende Amollo also called on Ruto urging him to respect court orders.
"William Ruto is coming out in his true colours! Court Orders Mean Nothing To Him! Hope CJ Martha Koome will reconsider the soft approach to this regime, and assert the full authority of courts!," he said.
The court dealt a blow to President William Ruto's housing program after declaring the Housing Levy unconstitutional for being discriminatory and creating unequal principles.
In his New Year's Eve message, Ruto decried that some state officers who have benefitted from the previous regime were out to sabotage key policies in his government.
