Nairobi — Senate Housing Committee Chair Karung Thangwa and his Manyatta MP Gitonga Mukunji have said that they won't allow the judiciary to derail President William Ruto's housing and health agendas through corruptly obtained court orders.
The two spoke at one of the affordable housing projects in Kiambu County.
They added that the court directives failed to consider the views of the public.
"On this site alone, we have four hundred youths. If they stop this project that is ongoing here, where will these people go?" Thangwa, who is a Senator for Kiambu, said.
"We are not telling the judiciary what to do. We are telling them to apply public good and public interests when they are giving court orders," he added.
"We are not going to allow the stoppage of affordable housing and universal health care."
Their sentiments come on the back of condemnations by various leaders and organizations after the Head of State accused some judiciary officials of issuing orders through corrupt means.
"I want to appeal to all arms of government to implement some sort of resilience and restrain when it comes to interfering with other arms of government work," Mukunji said.
