As traders sit and have their businesses closed, boycotting hefty taxes imposed on them, opposition political leader Robert Kyagulanyi has welcomed the move saying this is the way to go

Kyagulanyi faults government which he says has resorted to levying high revenue only for the tax payers money to be abused and end up in the hands of a few.

"Out of the Shs25 trillion collected in terms of tax, 10 trillion is lost in corruption. That's nearly half of the collected revenue," Kyagulanyi said

Bobi Wine as is commonly known says the unfortunate bit is the fact that this is the very money used to buy off competition by bribing corrupt opposition officials.

"It's your money that's stolen and used to buy off some of us and manipulate them," he said.

City traders have since announced a strike demanding that URA revise some taxes that have since been imposed on business.

But Kyagulanyi warns the heavy taxes concern should not be left to only business people but everyone.

Kyagulanyi told members of NUP that this "can only change if we stop it. Let's us stand with traders".
