Kenya: Ex-IEBC Chairperson Issack Hassan, Grace Nzioka Among 41 Shortlisted for Court of Appeal Judge Slots

Nairobi — Former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairperson Issack Hassan is among forty one candidates short listed for Court of Appeal Judges.

According to the Judicial Service Commission, (JSC), Justice Grace Nzioka who recently delivered a death sentence to Joseph Irungu alias Jowie in the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani has also been shortlisted.

" The JSC having reviewed the applications for completeness and conformity with the requirements as set out in the advertisement, shortlisted forty one (41) candidates," read the notice by JSC.

In the notice, the JSC indicated that others in the shortlist include Justices Alfred Mabeya, David SIfuna, Chaha Mwita and Hedwig Ong'undi.

Interviews are set to kick off from June 3 to 20 at the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) Pension Towers.

Eleven vacancies are set to be filled.

The commission had on February 2 invited applications for the positions of 11 Court of Appeal judges following consensus after a Heads of Arms Summit in January.
