Uganda: Ubos Mourns Namayingoenumerator Who Collapsed Dead On Duty

The ongoing National Population and housing Census 2024 got a setback in Namayingo district following the death of one of the enumerators.

Annet Tibiwa collapsed while on duty and was pronounced dead hours later at a health facility where she was rushed for medical attention.

According Namayingo District Census officer Martin Mangen the incident happened on Saturday while she executing her duties in Bumeru C village, Buchimo parish in Mutumba Sub County.

"She collapsed and was rushed to Shalom Medical Centre in Namayingo that evening, but unfortunately, lost the battle on Sunday afternoon despite efforts to save her life" Mangeni said.

In a condolence messege sent to her family, the Executive Director of Uganda Bureau of Statistics Dr Chris Mukiza described Tibiwa's death as untimely and a great loss to her family.

On behalf of the Board, management and staff, he contributed Sbs3 million.
