Brooklyn's streets transformed into a kaleidoscope of color and rhythm as the annual Dance Africa Bazaar took over BAM. This year's festival shone a spotlight on the rich heritage of Cameroon, curated by Artistic Director Abdel R. Salaam. The lineup featured captivating performances by the DanceAfrica Spirit Walkers, The Women Of The Calabash, The Billie's Youth Arts Academy Dance Ensemble, and Siren: Protectors of The Rainforest. The anchor performance, "The Origin of Communities / A Calabash of Cultures," highlighted the interconnectedness of dance, music, and culture.
The Brooklyn United high school marching band, a symphony of youthful passion and precision, stole hearts with their electrifying performance.
