The African Development Bank will, on 20th June 2024, launch the Agri-SME Support Program, designed to build a pipeline of investable small and medium enterprises in the agriculture sector across African food systems and facilitate their access to finance.
The Program falls under the Bank's Agri-Food SME Catalytic Financing Mechanism (ACFM) Technical Assistance Window and is implemented by Open Capital, a management consulting and financial advisory firm that drives growth, enables investment, and builds markets across Africa.
The launch event will provide information and answer questions about the Agri-SME Support Program, which will run for two years. Emphasis will also be placed on demonstrating how agri-SMEs can advance gender inclusivity and climate-resilient outcomes.
The Program will operate in over 20 Sub-Saharan African countries, supporting at least 180 agri-SMEs across growth stages, value chains, and business models.
