Kenya: KRA Begins Data Clean Up On Itax System

Nairobi — The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has urged all registered taxpayers to update their personal details on iTax so as to facilitate a smooth ongoing data clean-up exercise of personal identification numbers.

In a public notice, KRA stated that the taxpayers should update their phone number, physical address, email address, physical location of the business, residency status, and directorships or partnerships held.

KRA has assured that the exercise aims at elevating service delivery to taxpayers and ensuring the integrity of the taxpayer register.

"KRA would like to notify all registered taxpayers of the ongoing data clean-up exercise of taxpayer's PIN registration details. The exercise is aimed at ensuring the integrity of the taxpayers register with a view to enhance service delivery to all taxpayers," it stated.

According to KRA, a one-time password (OTP) for an update of taxpayers' contacts has already been rolled out in the Itax system.

Upon logging in to the website, it will display the mobile number registered with iTax, through which an OTP will be sent for validation of contact details.

Where the number is incorrect, taxpayers will need to capture the correct mobile number, through which an OTP will be sent, which will enable the individual to access the system.
