The MV Bukungu-Kaberamaido-Kagwara 1 vessel has successfully passed its floating test on Lake Kyoga, paving the way for its official launch later this year.

The 300-seater vessel, built to facilitate transportation on the lake, proved its seaworthiness and is now set to undergo final fine-tuning works.

"Today, our teams conducted a technical exercise to check the vessel's ability to remain afloat and stable on the surface of water," said Allan Ssempebwa, the spokesperson of Uganda National Roads Authority.

"Pleased to report that it performed exceptionally well."
