Kenya: Eatout, Beans Is How Champion Bean Dish Consumption

Nairobi — EatOut and Beans is How have announced the launch of the #BeansOnTheMenu initiative in Nairobi, which aims to encourage restaurants across the city to incorporate beans in their dishes to encourage healthy eating.

In a joint press statement, the two parties have stated that the campaign will be unveiled during the Nairobi Burger Week, which is set to take place from August 22 to 1st September.

The initiative is set to feature a series of events, meal promotions, and educational programs by partnering with restaurants, chefs, and food enthusiasts across the city.

"The #BeansOnTheMenu initiative aims to transform the culinary landscape in Kenya by encouraging restaurants to incorporate beans into their dishes. By partnering with restaurants, chefs, and food enthusiasts, this campaign seeks to elevate beans as a way to encourage healthier and more sustainable food choices," the statement read.

According to EatOut Director Mikul Shah, the partnership between the two organizations is a fit since they both share a strong commitment to cheer healthy, sustainable food choices. Furthermore, he underscored that it will be fundamental to recognize and celebrate the culinary creativity of chefs in this regard.

"We are thrilled to partner with Beans is How to bring the #BeansOnTheMenu initiative to life during Nairobi Burger Week. This collaboration not only celebrates the culinary creativity of our chefs but also promotes healthier and more sustainable food choices for our community." He stated.

According to the campaign director at Beans is How Kristin Gutekunst, the upcoming campaign will be pivotal in not only projecting beans as a "climate-smart powerhouse of nutrition," but also getting people excited about "this humble but incredible food group."

Gutekunst further stressed the need to collaborate with influencers who will play a substantial role in amplifying the campaign.
