Stakeholders in the education sector have been urged to join forces in the integration of data-driven and technology-enabled learning to boost the overall outcome.
Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang told participants of this year's EdTech Summit to work collaboratively to build an education system that serves every learner with the resources and the opportunity they deserve.
The EdTech Summit is an annual event that emphasizes a problem-centered approach, creating sessions that directly address challenges faced by educators, technologists, and policymakers.
"Together we can build an ecosystem that supports data-driven education decisions, which ensures educators resources that is needed to succeed," he said during the opening ceremony of the two-day EdTech Summit at the Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in Africa (CEMASTEA).
Unlike traditional content-focused events, the summit now in its 10th edition facilitates discussions and activities that generate learning and foster innovative solutions in specific topic areas.
"Our agenda for every summit when we gather is to reflect on the critical questions that we have to answer as an ecosystem," said EdTech East Africa chief executive Jennifer Otieno.
The list of critical questions are developed collectively by representatives across the education sector including the national and county government, funders and researchers.
The EdTech Summit is designed to tackle the most pressing issues and barriers to collaboration within the EdTech ecosystem.

"This forum is an opportunity to take stock of what we have done as an ecosystem and see what we can continue to do more effectively together to drive our work forward," she said.
The interactive Summit has a mix of panel discussions, networking sessions and offers techpreneurs in the education sector an opportunity to showcase their innovations.
Kenya in June unveiled the five-year National Education Sector Strategic Plan (NESSP) aimed at implementing reforms in the education sector.
The plan emphasizes promoting inclusive practices that celebrate diversity and provide equal opportunities for success as well as promoting cutting-edge teaching and learning methodologies that foster critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
I also focuses on strengthening education management systems, improving transparency, and ensuring that resources are used efficiently and effectively.
"NESSP highlights the importance of evidence-based decision by integrating monetary, evaluation and reporting mechanisms across all education programs," said Dr Kipsang.
He said by embracing technology and data driven strategies, the government is laying the ground work of a brighter and more equitable future.
