KK Security has officially rebranded as GardaWorld Security in Uganda, signaling a significant shift that promises to enhance employment opportunities across the region.
This transformation, effective August 1, 2024, aligns Uganda with a global leader in security services while emphasizing a commitment to improving employee welfare a crucial factor in combating crime within the private security sector.
The rebranding celebration, held on September 18 at Méstil Hotel & Residences in Kampala, gathered clients, partners, and employees to witness this new chapter.
For over 29 years, KK Security has been a trusted name in Uganda's security landscape. Following its acquisition by GardaWorld in 2016, the integration into a global framework has facilitated a seamless transition toward enhanced service delivery.
"With over 3,000 security professionals, GardaWorld Uganda is poised to become one of the country's leading security service providers," said David Marshall, Managing Director for East Africa.
He emphasized the company's diverse offerings, which cater to critical sectors such as oil and gas, commercial, residential, retail, and hospitality. This broad scope is not just about protecting assets; it's also about creating jobs that benefit local economies.
A crucial element of GardaWorld's strategy is addressing rising concerns about crime linked to private security personnel. "Improving employee welfare is essential in reducing these incidents," noted Robinson Mwenda, Country Director for Uganda.
By investing in comprehensive training, competitive compensation, and mental health support, GardaWorld aims to empower its employees to perform their roles with integrity and professionalism.
The rebranding is expected to generate numerous new employment opportunities, particularly timely given Uganda's current economic landscape.
The security sector is well-positioned to absorb job seekers, especially as demand for professional security services continues to grow.
By prioritising employee welfare, GardaWorld enhances job satisfaction and fosters a more trustworthy security environment.
"When employees feel supported and valued, the likelihood of unethical behavior decreases," Marshall added, highlighting the correlation between employee well-being and community safety.
Additionally, GardaWorld's focus on tailored security solutions enables it to meet the specific needs of its diverse clientele. This commitment strengthens client relationships and cultivates pride among employees who recognize the impact of their work.
By establishing a culture of accountability and professionalism, GardaWorld is setting new standards in the industry.
As GardaWorld Security embarks on this journey, its focus on employee well-being and job creation positions it as a beacon of hope in Uganda's job market.
The promise of increased employment opportunities, paired with a robust support system for employees, represents a significant step forward for both the company and the community it serves.
"The rebranding of KK Security to GardaWorld Security signals a transformative moment for Uganda's security sector.
By concentrating on improving employee welfare and creating new job opportunities, GardaWorld is not only enhancing its operational capacity but is also committed to fostering a safer, more prosperous society.
This strategic move has the potential to redefine the security services landscape in Uganda, ensuring that when employees thrive, the entire community benefits." Concluded Marshall.
