Speaking at the opening of a week-long retreat at the College of Logistics and Engineering, the UPDF Chief of Joint Staff noted that such gatherings are crucial for building cohesion and instilling discipline.
The Chief of Joint Staff, Major-General Jack Bakasumba has urged logistics personnel within the Uganda Peoples' Defence Forces (UPDF) to reject corruption and uphold integrity.
Gen Bakasumba said it was important to maintain effective operations and enhancing logistics management.
Speaking at the opening of a week-long retreat at the College of Logistics and Engineering, he noted that such gatherings are crucial for building cohesion and instilling discipline.
"These retreats help strengthen ideological clarity, foster patriotism, and promote mindset change within the force," Maj Gen Bakasumba said.
Brig Gen Godwin Karugaba, who played a key role in organizing the retreat, emphasized the need for collaboration among logistics departments, calling the event an opportunity to refocus efforts and align with national directives.
Attendees included senior and junior officers, with discussions centered on building a more resilient logistics framework to support future operations across the continent.
